Pretty much everyone who has followed Minecraft’s ridiculously successful transfer to the Xbox Arcade will now know that it is currently running on Beta 1.6.6, meaning there are many missing features that have yet to be added, but never fear! Many sources, including Notch, Jens and the official Minecraft wiki page have confirmed that the next patch to hit Minecraft for XBLA will be Beta 1.7.3, introducing exciting features for those who have yet to play Minecraft for the PC. Included in the patch are shears, for transferring leaves and shearing sheep, pistons – sticky and normal – and a plethora of others to follow suit.

It has been revealed that the Xbox Live Arcade version of Minecraft will catch up to the PC version that is currently running 1.2.5 in the near future. We may not have to wait all that long, though, as it is rumoured that the next update will arrive in mid June, followed by another update estimated to hit in early July, fixing many glitches and bugs that have been hindering your 8-bit experience.
