Microsoft's Surface tablet, releasing on October 26
Microsoft’s Surface tablet will be co-released with Windows 8 on October 26 of this year.
“The next version of our operating system, Windows 8, will be generally available on October 26, 2012. At that time, we will begin selling the Surface, a series of Microsoft-designed and manufactured hardware devices,” A Microsoft representative stated in their annual report filed this week with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
There will initially be one tablet model, though another will be released approximately 3 months later. The Surface tablet being released in October will feature an ARM chipset, whereas the later model will feature an Intel-based processor.
